CODE OF CONDUCT

THE KENT HOUSE LEISURE GARDENS ASSOCIATION

Believes that the allotment garden is an area where members may gather to tend their plots, attend meetings and social functions without let or hindrance, and in peace and tranquillity.

The Association believes that all members, including members of the Management Committee, should be free to conduct their business without let or hindrance, and without fear of harassment or inappropriate language or behaviour.

There will be no toleration of racist or sexist or other discriminatory language or practices on the site, or the use of violence or threatening behaviour. Serious or repeated incidents may cause the expulsion of the perpetrator from their plot and the site. Incidents should be reported immediately to the committee in writing with the names of witnesses if possible.

Observe Rules:

20 Any Member acting in contravention of these Rules or any of the terms contained in the tenancy Agreement shall take such remedial action as may be decided upon by the Committee.

21 Every gardener to comply with the Health & Safety laws, and exercise a ‘Duty of Care’ towards themselves, other members and the general public.

This includes:

  • Be considerate.
  • Be respectful,
  • Be collaborative
  • When we disagree, we consult the Committee.
  • When we are unsure, we ask the Committee

If, upon investigation, a member is deemed to have behaved in a manner contrary to this Code of Conduct, they may be required to leave the site, either temporarily or permanently.
